Demand-Responsive taxi service is providing for people who live in the poor areas of public transportation. The demand-responsive taxi service has advanced the resident’s right of mobility and quality of life in small villages in Gyeonggi-Do.
The purpose of this study is to improve problems related to the service of demand-responsive taxis. The study are also going to introduce more taxis to many areas of poor public transportation.
The result of this study shows that there are a couple of problems on the demand-responsive taxi service. First, it is not easy for people to take the demand-responsive taxis at any time during a day because of lots of restricted conditions on taking taxis. The rule on the demand-responsive taxi requires for some people to make some reports, and a permission to take it from their village headmen.
To improve the service of demand-responsive taxis, this study suggests that the unreasonable rules on the taxi should be removed if possible. Most of all, it is requested sufficient budget to give a large subsidy to operators of the demand-responsive taxi service.
