The purpose of this study was to propose the contents of the middle school curriculum in Industrial Arts and Home Economics from the perspective of Home Economics. A particular attention has been paid to the integrated form of curriculum in both subjects for both male and female students, rather than to the separated ones of Industrial Arts and Home Economics for boys and girls, res-pectively. A primary perspective of the study has been drawn from the comparative analysis of the current curricula in various countries such as the United States of America, England, France, West Germany, Japan, and Taiwan. The researcher found some similarities between two subjects throughout the countries explored. Namely, the major content of Industrial Arts curriculum was the better understanding of industrial life, whereas that of Home Economics curriculum was to improve family life. These similarities, however, were found that they were not much different from the contents of the Practical Arts curriculum at elementary school in Korea. From this observation, the researcher assumed that the integrated curriculum contents in middle schools should be an extension of the Practical Arts in elmentary schools. Based on this assumption, the researcher proposed 10 specific contents, i.e., major divisions, of the integrated curriculum by two fields of industrial life and family life. The researcher also tried to provide more detailed information in each major divisions, i.e., title objectives.
