The purpose of this study was to examine how scientific writing geared toward improving logical thinking skills affected the science inquiry process skills and scientific attitude of elementary school students. The experiment was conducted in 10 sessions out of fourth-grade units 4 and 6 of the first semester. The topics were respectively about kidney bean and the roots of plants. Logical thinking skills referred to inductive and deductive thinking skills. Lesson plans were prepared to deal with four types of writing related to inductive thinking skills and five types of writing related to deductive thinking skills. The scientific writing instruction had effect on the science inquiry process skills. Especially, it was significantly effective at bolstering their classification and data conversion skills. And the scientific writing had improved the scientific attitude, at boosting their endurance and creativity, two of scientific attitude subordinate concepts. Scientific writing activities had a positive impact on the school children. But incentives should be provided for them to enjoy scientific writing. The development of intriguing materials and effective teaching-learning methods is expected to make scientific writing more widespread as the foundation of essay education.
