The high rate of youths’ unemployment is regarded as one of the most serious problems not only in Korea but in the whole world. The government in different counties is making efforts to solve this problem multilaterally. Also, youths are struggling to improve their ability to get a job. However, the problem still remains unsolved. With a number of national policies, the rate of students entering universities is reducing these days in Korea. Also, as it is becoming more and more difficult to get a job after graduation, universities’ competitiveness is not from the school’s status or name value but from what can enhance students’ own competencies, for example, teaching staff or the curriculum. Along with that, universities are planning and operating employment programs related to job getting or career seeking reflecting students’ keen interest in it. In order for students having cooking-related majors to feel confident about getting a job related to their major, it is important to investigate education environment like teaching ability or the curriculum, major commitment. This is why this researcher decided to study on it. Based on literature review, this author examined culinary education environment, major commitment. Culinary education environment here has four categories: teaching faculty, career and employment support, education facilities, and the curriculum. Major commitment has two categories: behavioral commitment and cognitive commitment. Along with that, positive analysis is done with a survey to investigate and analyze the effects of culinary education environment on major commitment.
