The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a human rights-based empathy program on the school violence attitude and the empathy of high school students. Research questions were as follows. First, did the program affect the high school students" attitudes on the school violence? Second, did the program affect the empathy ability of high school students?
In order to answer those questions, 30 students with high aggressiveness among first year students in H-specialized high school in B metropolitan city were selected and allocated to the experimental group and the control group by random allocation. The researchers conducted the program in the Wee class of H specialization high school for a total of 14 sessions, two sessions each week, for 50 minutes per session.
To verify the effect of the program, t-test and ANCOVA were performed. The results of this study were as follows. First, the program positively affected the attitude of high school students on school violence. Second, the program improved the empathy of high school students.
Based on the findings, implications and limitations were suggested for future research.
