The purpose of this study was provide suggestions available for formulating the efficient marketing strategy by making a reliable analysis of market segmentation in accordance with consumers' perceptions of service quality in the squash market. The questionnaire comprised a total of 25 items concerning service quality. Cronbach's α was conducted for the items on service quality. As a result, it was shown to be α=.756 -.895. Accordingly, it showed the relatively high explanatory power of 62.3%. As the sample, 189 persons were sampled from the squash market located in Seoul. Data from the questionnaire research were used for statistical analysis. Cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and duncan test were conducted.
As a result of analysis, the following findings were obtained:
The pattern of service quality was categorized into efficient operation and management, easiness to use, employee image, and provided service attributes by market segment of the squash market. It was found that there was a significant difference between groups pursuing squash(p<0.05). And It was found that there was a difference between expected service quality and perceived service quality. The level of expectation to service quality is overall higher than the level of satisfaction with service quality(p<0.05). Especially, Attributes such as modernized facility and equipment, comfortable indoor environment, sincere response in spite of business, and auxiliary facility were found to be the major cause of dissatisfaction because they were not provided for medical consumers to as much as they expected.
Consequently, market segmentation should be achieved to make a detailed and comprehensive analysis of consumer behavior in accordance with consumers' perceptions of service quality in the squash market, Expecially, many researchers and practitioners should have competitiveness by presenting new service quality well-suited to our actualities and climate through continuos criticism and repeated research.
