In modern society, it is necessary to have various abilities and to have talented people who perform problems by utilizing their abilities well. Furthermore, the upcoming future requires talented people who can combine various information, knowledge and think creatively. In the educational field, various methods were sought for this, one of which was to improve students' creativity and inquiry skills through the distribution and use of smart devices. However, unlike the intention to distribute in the field, smart devices are often used only for data retrieval. Using smart devices, it is possible to integrally educate various subjects rather than a single subject. Therefore, this study aims to understand the effectiveness of applying the STEAM program using smart pads to elementary school students. The stop motion animation used in the STEAM program is easy to produce with smart devices, which can be accessed interestingly by students with difficulty in art, and can have various effects depending on how they are produced, which helps students' creativity and expressiveness. Therefore, the effect of applying the STEAM program using stop motion animation was investigated and provided as data for fostering future talent. This study compared and analyzed how the applied program affects students' scientific attitudes, scientific inquiry skills and creative problem-solving skills. After conducting each test tool in advance and post-test on 32 sixth-grade students in 2021, the collected response data were statistically analyzed with independent samples t-test and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). As a result of the analysis, the program applied had a significant difference in scientific inquiry ability and scientific attitude. However, there were no significant results for creative problem-solving ability. This suggests that an effective STEAM program using smart devices should be developed and applied to the educational field in the future.
