Pu'er Chagao is a kind of instant tea that is made in a special way with the juice of pu'er tea in Yunnan Province and it is separated from its fiber and boiled. Pu'er Chagao has a lot of effectiveness of tea with the strongpoint of convenience to carry and drink. One of notable things is that the title of Chagao in Pu'er Chagao had existed since ancient times. Chagao is a kind of tea derived from the development of crumby-cake tea and was sufficiently valuable that it had been presented to the Chinese Imperial Court. Pu'er Chagao in the Qing Dynasty period achieved its recognition as a highly qualified tea, and its effectiveness has been recognized in traditional Chinese medicine. On the other hand, the method of Chagao manufacture had not been handed down and after the fall of Qing Dynasty, its reputation was not continued. Recently, the ancient Chagao has been reappearing owing to the efforts of the Chinese Tea academy, and the title of Pu'er Chagao is being used. Overall, the effectiveness of Chagao as the first instant tea had been recognized, and the manufacturing and drinking of tea had been studied from the ancient times.
