After liberation, several women's organizations were organized in South Korea and women's movement was expanded. Shortly after liberation, women's movement began with the establishment of ‘Founding Women's Association’, a coalition of left and right wing women. This constitutional alliance was divided by ideological power and the left wing women formed ‘the Korean Women Alliance’. Yeoseonggongron is a magazine that shows claims and routes of female liberation movement of left wing women in the U. S. Military Government Period of Korea. This magazine is a left-wing women's monthly magazine. It was launched on January 1, 1946, aiming at liberation and enlightenment of Korean women. Currently, only the first to fourth issues can be confirmed. It is a valuable historical sources that informs left-wing women's claims and activities. Perceptions of women's problems in Yeoseonggongron are shown in the following, At that time, women were discriminated against politically, economically, and sociall. Causes of such women's problems were economic inequality. Thus, it was necessary to achieve class struggle and female liberation. It was argued that acquisition of suffrage or legal status was insufficient. Having equal economic conditions and economic rights with men was the condition for women's liberation. Furthermore, the demand to reform the social system was different from the rightist women's movement. In order to liberate women, contributors emphasized the development of women's organization and enlightenment movement. On the other hand, awareness of women's movement in this magazine showed limitation in that women could not escape from their traditional gender role in the family. In addition, it focused on women workers rather than female farmers. Threrfore,it showed a gap with the situation in South Korea.
