The issue of femininity and classification began to be more actively considered when the socialist movement was introduced to modern Chosun society. In order to solve the problems of long colonial rule and move toward a new society, intellectuals of Chosun actively considered the problems of gender and class in order to seek the identity of new women. This aspect is easily found in women's magazines from the late 1920s to the early 1930s. During this period, major women's magazines and magazines related to the socialist movement were studied to examine the combination of socialist movements and women's liberation discourse. In "Modern wife"(현대부인, 1928), articles on socialist ideas and contemporary women's issues were partially deleted. Limits and problems have been found that are difficult to identify specific discussions. However, this women's magazine, along with Geun-woo(근우), the organ of the early socialist movement, has a pioneering position in the women's socialist movement. In "Women's friend"(여성지우, 1929), articles related to the theory of women's liberation were often published. The combination of the socialist movement and the issue of gender equality could be examined more closely. These papers emphasized that Chosun women themselves should provide an opportunity to reflect on the inside and the position of historical reality. In particular, it actively dealt with the labor force of women and presented criticism and prospects of Chosun society in a convincing manner based on socialist ideology. “Women”(여인, 1932) contains various texts to actively examine the new women of Chosun as the main agents of the socialist movement. The magazine should be wary of being paralyzed by convention and ideas, and many articles have been published that show this reflection is the foundation of the liberation movement. Basically, they maintain that only the liberation of the working class brings true liberation to women. Not only were various literary texts on the theme of women's liberation actively produced, but there were also writings that emphasized women's activities and importance in terms of education. The three women's magazines above show relatively distinct aspects of the combination of socialist movements and women's liberation issues. The article confirmed that intellectuals in Joseon actively considered the issue of women's liberation and socialist class to seek the identity of new women.
