The purpose of this study is to analyze the fitness and difficulty of the English supply items in high school English Tests based on the student's English ability, and to find out how to produce an appropriate supply item. The Rasch model investigated the correlation between a percentage of correct answers for the six supply items actually used in a high school English Tests and their English achievement. To do so, 95 high school students participated in this research and their responses to the test were investigated in the model, which was applied to analyze whether one of the six items was too difficult or easy to consider students' English ability statistically. A qualitative research was applied to the reason why some of the items were too easy or difficult. As findings of this study, the item that requires simple vocabulary knowledge, the item that does not provide accurate clues about the categories of knowledge with the student, the item that requires two or more thinking processes for correct answers are too easy or difficult. In addition, it is necessary to prepare items involved with authentic communicative competence in order to improve it, and the examiner needs to provide clues to present his or her intention with the students. Moreover, based on the content in the official curriculum, an item should be produced that evaluate the students' achievement meaningfully.
