The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the extensive activity related a germination condition on the basis of the effect on the cold treatment of Plantago asiatica seeds. For this, the experimental group was respectively treated for 1, 5, 15, 30 and 60 days at the refrigerator. The results of this study were as follows. According to the ratio of the germination, the cold treatment groups were higher than that of the control group, except for 60 days. The germination time after seeding at the experimental group for 15 and 30 days was earlier 1 day than that of the control group, but the 60 days group was later. Extensive activities appeared in the elementary science textbooks were investigated. Most of them were making activities, but lacked continuous inquiry activities. Also a extensive activity of the learning theme related a germination condition was not appeared. As the result of the developed extensive activity related the effect on the cold treatment was applied, it can be helpful to improve the performance of experiments and the scientific attitude.
