This study critically reviews the content system of the ‘2015 revised ethics education curriculum’ which is competency-based. And it gives some suggestions focusing on future education and a general guideline of the 2015 revised curriculum. To approach this goal, three research problems were set up. First, on a macroscopic level, this study points out the logical connection points between future education and the general guideline of the 2015 revised curriculum. Based on this, from a microscopic point of view, I critically review the current ethics education curriculum from an analytical perspective. And then, I suggest improvement measures based on the emphasis of the competency-based curriculum. We should improve the descriptions of the ‘functioning’ part, which newly added to the content system. To make it more rigorous, we should reflect the results of the latest moral psychological researches. This study also suggests a further need for a series of studies on reconstructing the hypothetical moral-developmental learning process about Korean adolescents.
