The purpose of this study is to identify the mediating effects of early childhood teachers’ psychological empowerment in the relationship between their awareness of educational community and cooperation with parents. This research reflects the current status in the early childhood educational sector because the establishment of educational community has been raised as a crucial matter. Data collection was conducted among 198 nursery teachers of kindergartens and day care centers using several rating scales: teachers’ perception of early childhood educational community, teachers’ psychological empowerment and parent-teacher cooperation. The data were analyzed according to the procedures of correlations and the mediating effects of multiple regressions (Baron & Kenny, 1986). Results demonstrated a positive relationship among the three variables. The teacher’s psychological empowerment has partial mediating effect in the relationship between teacher’s perception of early childhood educational community and cooperation with parents. Findings also show a significant implication regarding teacher training and educational courses. The promotion of cooperation with parents can be facilitated by teachers’ psychological competence and the establishment of early childhood educational community.
