This study explains how to establish the Wooam school, especially focused on the True Succession of the Way. In the other words, Song's Dotongguan(道統觀) is transmitted to his followers and they set up a school named Wooam Add to this, Song and his disciples tried hard to make their theory the orthodoxy of ChoSun SoengRiHak.
Wooam accepted Juja's Dotongguan(道統觀) just as it was and built up the Ki-Ho school's Dotong system; Gongja - Juja-
Yulgog - Sagye. Also he called himself the lineal descendant of the Ki-Ho school. Wooam devoted his whole life to make the Ki-Ho school the orthodoxy school of ChoSun SoengReeHak
To do this, Song Si yeol annotated and classified 『Jujadaejean (朱子大全)』 『Jujauhlyu(朱子語類)』. Due to this work, political and academic relationship is formed. Based on it, Wooam and his fellowship solidified the foundation of their thought and tightened their political and academic union. Further they made efforts to gain the orthodoxy. The relationship kept going even after Song Si Yeol's death. They helped out one another when they collect,
correct, and publish Song Si Yeol's manuscripts. So we speak, this series of process show us Wooam school's foundation and development.
When did the Wooam school set up? I'd like to answer "around the time of the faction between the part of Naron and the part of Soron."(for short Naron and Soron). Initially the devision betv.'een Naron and Saron was caused by a political issue; Young official (politician) who criticize related politician's irrationality became the part of Soron; Old officials who combined with related politician became the part of Noron. But both parts didn't show us clearly distinctive characters yet. Therefore I would call this "Early stage of the fraction.:"
After Gabsulhuanguk(甲戌換局), most of Namin were excluded from governments and Naron and Soron took complete charge of the political situation. By this time, Seoin' s fellowship gradually faded out. After Bark Se-Chae who sticked to the idea "the worship of Juja" converted into Noron. Noron had the character, or absolute following Juja's teaching; Saran has open minded character, such as acceptance of YangMyung hak. In short, the hvo parts distinguished from each other at that time. The fraction between Naron and Soron already developed and the Wooam school also set up.
Considered from the pint of view that in ChaSon dynasty political fractions are the same as scolatic ones, I would say the Wooam school was established after 1694. After Beongsinchebun(丙申處分), Karon was fixed as orthodoxy and attained a secure position in governments. The school's theory, especially absolute following Juja's teaching and the theory of Justice in ChunChu is
very favorable to the kings. By the time of Jung Jo, the True Succession of the Way of ChoSun SeongReeHak systemized like this: Juja - Songja(宋子)
