Balhae is main component of east Asia and can be an existence like a window
to get a view of east Asia not only of the present but also of the past.
In the textbook of history of Japanese middle school, more explanation is needed about Balhae to understand its context. But in the textbook of history of Japanese high school, fuller explanation is given than that in quantity and in quality.
In the textbook of history of middle school, though it's described Balhae is almost founded by descendants of Koguryo, interchange or indication of territory between Balhae and Japan is limited to assistant position to explain Japanese history .
In the textbook of history of high school, it's described Balhae is resigned to Japanese treatment as a tributary or a country to pay taxes because Balhae can make a profit on economy and support of Japan from military threatening of Tang and Shila. Thus Balhae is described as a kind of backward country. It's partial to domestic angle too much, so correct errors is needed.
