This study analyzed the impact on Korea's FTA utilization rate after the conclusion of the FTAs actively promoted by Korea since 2000. Using quarterly data from the first quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2023, this study presents policy implications for Korea's future FTA promotion strategy and follow-up management through panel and sensitivity analyses for eight major FTAs. The main conclusions are as follows: economic growth and increased trade volume had a positive effect on the FTA utilization rate. Second, as the period since the conclusion of the FTA increased, the FTA utilization rate also increased. Third, the country-of-origin verification method had different effects on the FTA utilization rate depending on the trade pattern. Lastly, the sensitivity analysis of FTA utilization rate, using time-series data by country, showed that it varied depending on the country with which the FTA was concluded. Through these findings, this study suggests a virtuous cycle of the economic ripple effects of FTAs and emphasizes the importance of follow-up management of FTAs
