Since the casino industry is more dependent on human resources than other industries, human resource management is very important. Therefore, the manager"s leadership skills are needed for efficient human resource management of casino employees who serve at customer contact points. According to this importance, this study examined the relationship between Pygmalion leadership perceived by casino employees, self-efficacy, and organizational commitment by considering Pygmalion leadership as an important leadership skill of managers for efficient human resource management. In addition, it was attempted to verify the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between pygmalion leadership and organizational commitment. For empirical analysis, a final sample of 176 casino employees in Jeju was conducted. The results of this study are as follows.
First, the opportunity and consideration of Pygmalion leadership have a positive (+) significant effect on employees" self-efficacy and organizational commitment. However, it was found that the provision of information did not have a significant effect. Second, it was found that casino employees" self-efficacy had a positive (+) significant effect on organizational commitment. Third, among the sub-factors of Pygmalion leadership, opportunity provision and consideration were found to have a partial mediating effect on organizational commitment through self-efficacy. In casino companies, the leader"s Pygmalion leadership is meaningful as a key means of effective human resource management.
