This research explores the type of escapism motivation profiles based on escapism motivation theory by utilizing a latent profile analysis on the basis of the combination of the two components (ex., self-supersession and self-expansion) and on the sample of travelers (n= 314). Two types of escapism motivation profiles were identified. Multinominal regression analysis was then performed to examine the relationship between these two profiles and demographic variables. The results showed that both the length of visit and monthly income were significantly associated with these two profiles. Furthermore, the identified two profiles were compared with travelers’ emotional and cognitive healing effects. The results showed that escapism motivation profiles with respect to the high level of self-supersession and self-expansion, and travellers’ level of healing effects were higher than profile relating just to the high level of self-expansion.
