This study analyzed the proportion of evolutionary contents in the entire biology textbook of 78 high school biology textbooks developed from the first to the 6th high school biology curriculum. According to the result, the proportion of evolutionary contents showed great differences from 0% to 20.5% depending on the points of view of textbook writers and the biology curriculum. But the average proportion of evolutionary content was similar to the result expected from high school biology curriculum. The proportion of evolutionary contents developed by each high school biology curriculum was 6-8% and the lowest is the 6th curriculum (4.6%). By the analyzed result depending on courses-science course, humanity and social science course-, science course (5%) and humanity and social science course (2.3%) of the 6th curriculum got the lower and lowest proportion. Most students covered by the 7th curriculum are expected to have little opportunity to learn about one of the most important idea, the evolution and evolution theory in the history of human thought, in their high school years
