This study was to compare the evolution parts in the secondary school biology textbooks of South and North Korea. The presentation of evolutionary theory in biology textbooks of South and North Korea was examined using the methods of contents analysis. For each book, the amount of text devoted to each 84 evolutionary topics was assessed. And how these books present the evolutionary theory was described through the analysis of elaboration. As results of this study, there are a lot of differences in the content and elaboration pattern. 79% of evolutionary theory in North Korea textbook are occupied with evidence of evolution, miscellaneous, origin of life, evolution and origin of human beings, fossils and geological time scale. Some topics(19%) are appeared only in the North Korea textbooks and socialism and the Juche Ideology of North Korea is reflected in these topics. For the science curriculums establishment after unification, it should be the most important efforts to understand the cause of differences, and to unify differences in content and ideology.
