The purpose of this study was to develop the Whole Brain Learning Cycle(WBLC) programs for nurturing student's creativity and to analyze the effects of this material on the changes of student's creativity, science achievement and science-related attitude. WBLC program was developed on the basis of the whole brain learning program(4MAT system) including the learning styles and the cognitive specialization of left and right hemispheres. WBLC is a teaching strategy devised by combining the thinking for creative problem solving with the cognitive specialization of brain. The study was conducted for 4 weeks during the 1998 second semester in H elementary school which is located in Incheon. WBLC learning program was applied to the 5th and 6th grade students. One hundred three the 5th grade students and ninety six the 6th grade students were selected for this study. The experimental group was taught in applying the WBLC, and the control group was taught by the traditional manner. The results of this study were as follows : WBLC showed statistically significant difference in both the 5th and 6th graders for the changes of the creativity and science achievement. For science-related attitude, WBLC showed statistically significant difference in the 5th graders but not in the 6th graders. In conclusion, the WBLC instruction was more effective in developing student's creativity and science achievement than the traditional instruction in both grades.
