The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of major satisfaction and major flow of vocational high school students majoring in culinary arts on career preparation behavior. For this purpose, the data collected through a questionnaire survey from four hundred and fifteen students who are majoring in culinary arts at vocational highschool in South Korea. The data were analyzed by using factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis and hierarchical analysis. The results are as follows. Among the satisfaction of relationship with teachers and satisfaction of social perception had a positive effect on the information gathering behavior, and satisfaction of social perception had a positive effect on the tool-preparation behavior. An analysis of the influence of major flow on career preparation behavior shows that only intellectual curiosity flow factor have a positive influence on information gathering behavior, practical efforts and tool-preparation behavior. Career decision-making self-efficacy showed a partial moderating effect between the major satisfaction and the information gathering behavior. Managerial implications and limitations were also discussed.
