The purpose of this study is to analyze how the Zyunoutai (sitemorau) sentential structure is used in Japanese textbooks for High schools written based on the 2009 revised national curriculum in Korea, focusing on yarimorai, one of grammatical categories in Japanese, based on which we further considered pedagogical implications. The results are as follows:
1) There were a total of nine different types of Japanese verbs, which were presented 27 times. The verb usage was most frequent for osieru (6 times), intermediate for tetudau and okuru (4 times), and least frequent for siraberu (1 time).
2) In terms of verb types, among the four types of the basic usage where he beneficiary existed in internal structures, the most frequently used types were the indirect object of Zyunoutai , and the possessor of the direct object of Zyunoutai followed. However, there were large variations; for example, there were the cases in which the direct object of Zyunoutai and the possessor of indirect object of Zyunoutai were not were not used at all.
3) None of the textbooks covered all of the four types of the Zyunoutai sentential structure. There are three Textbooks which are A、H and I covering two types of the Zyunoutai sentence structure.
Japanese textbooks used in High schools need to deal with the basic four types related to Zyunoutai in a balanced manner, because it is one of the essential expressions for a better communication, which will improve educational efficiency. Regarding teaching methods, it would also be more efficient to teach students the structure in a relation to various types of Zyunoutai structure according to learning steps. The suggestion is in line with the educational goals of the 2009 revised national curriculum in Korea, which emphasizes successful verbal communication.
