In 2017, Marine Le Pen, the Presidential Candidate of the National Front, won 21.3% of the vote in the first round and went to second round. She received around 11 million votes, a significant increase from the 4.5 million that were cast 15 years ago for Jean-Marie Le Pen in the presidential run-off. The popularity of the National Front leans on the Nationalist Discourse that is based on the Xenophobia. The Rise of the National Front shows the crucial aspect of Crisis of Republic and Democracy strongly influenced by the spirit of the French Revolution.
The Starting point of this argument is the fact that the origin of the National Front is a Neo-Fascist organization, ‘New Order’. Boulangists and anti-Dreyfusard, Charles Maurras and Maurice Barrès, Marcel Déat and Jacques Doriot... The sepcter of these Old Nationalists is neoterically adapted and reappears on the political scene. Succeeding in making a comeback, the vestiges of Nationalism reinforce it once more through the antiimmigration campaign.
