With the food service enterprise workers as study subjects, this empirical research investigates the relationships between the food service employees" recognition on the employment of the disabled and its relations to the causes of unemployment. Thus, this study is to develop measures that can facilitate the employment of the disabled, which is substantially limited in the current employment system. The results indicate that since their work performances may be problematic in food service industry, employers tend not to employ the disabled. Also, the results revealed that employers tend not to employ the disabled because of various expenses incurred from hiring the disabled. Regarding the measures to solve this problem, it is important to note that the work manuals available at most food service enterprises are tailored for the non-disabled. Thus, if employers set up the types or grades of disabilities appropriately and provide the disabled with right manual and appropriate training, this problem will be reduced for certain. For employers, this can be implemented without much difficulty.
