This study aims to find alternatives for a success of restaurant management. The demographic differences on restaurant location are investigated for the above objectives. It was found that the restaurant location factors are favored by different demographic profiles. First, restaurant location factors with characteristics including nearby bus and taxi stops, linear bus services and smoothed traffic, downtown area, and finally, economy development potentiality were found to be important for strategic management of restaurant. Second, places having likely to be considered as important attractiveness factors with impacts to the business performances include clustered dining-out business zone, clean area and crowded street. The above factors seem to be very important for the location strategy of dining-out businesses in cities with familiar demographic characteristics with Ulsan. This study has some limitations in the questionnaire survey. The study results may not be generalized to the nation because its research scope was limited to Ulsan City, located in the south-eastern tip of Korean peninsula. Sampling scope will need expansion in the future research as well. However, the data and their analyses are believed to be useful to the venture businessmen about to open his or her restaurant to evaluate the location attractiveness for money-making and in particular to people in cities with familiar demographic characteristics like Ulsan. The study results are hoped to be readable to the interested in the restaurant business.
