Through this present economic crisis, people with severe disabilities have been experiencing difficulties in the labor market. Creation of more jobs for those with severe disabilities is a desperate need.
In this context, a study was carried out in order to target employment creation for the severely disabled among powerful employers, and to disseminate the importance of this effort throughout the country. Those highly visible employers could lead public opinion and make a significant impact on society.
For this purpose, the National Assembly was targeted, and a job as a health manager was designated an employment model in order to provide more chances to visually impaired persons in the public sector.
The project was undertaken for ten months - from February to November.
The study presented the systematical steps of the project to set a basis for employment creation for visually impaired health managers. Moreover, during the project, an atmosphere of employment creation was fostered through an agreement of employment expansion for the disabled between the National Assembly and the Ministry of Labor. Also, activities that helped employees in the National Assembly understand their jobs, such as simulations, were carried out.
In conclusion, the study proposed solutions for anticipated problems with the model, when applied to other organizations in the future.
