Teaching native tongue to Korean students aims at helping them to speak more correctly and validly. Most students speak the language correctly in grammatical structure. They must pay more attention to the three aspects, namely (a) things and events they want to tell about, (b) thinking processes and (c) logic. Composing a text inevitably involves thinking processes such as observations, comparisons and reasoning. A text is a product of speaker's thinking processes about things and events.
It may be preferable to teach the meaning of grammatical morphemes to younger students, instead of identification of word-classes. A teacher can help students to combine the morpheme with thinking processes and with the events referred to. After the task students can exercise the every aspect of thinking processes and logic. Analysis of concepts and propositions, interpretations, validity of arguments and logical fallacies must be exercised amply in the class.
Teaching native tongue to Korean students will be fulfilled by focussing the train of logic and of thinking processes with exquisite concepts and events in the later period of students school life.
