The purpose of this study is to establish the thematic roles based on semantic features such as CONTROL, CAUSE, TELICITY, and CHANGE. In order to achieve this purpose, it is shown that aktionsart plays an important role in determining the thematic roles. In this respect, thematic roles are classified as follows:

In the system, Spatial Roles consist of Goal, Source, Theme, and Location, Logical Actors consist of Agent, Actor, and Instrument, and Logical Recipients consist of Patient, Experiencer, and Recipient. This system can solve the difficulty in analysing thematic structures, such as the distinction between spatial roles and logical patients as well as various semantic properties of agent described by previous studies. In addition, the system shows the notional differentiation among thematic roles considering semantic features such as CONTROL, CAUSE, TELICITY, and CHANGE.
