The aim of this thesis is to suggest to teachers the frame that is needed to teach learners how to write a narrative effectively depending upon the macro structure theory suggested by textlinguistics.
Above all, I examined some macro structure theories insisted by textlinguistics based upon recording narrative literatures in the textbooks. And after investigating the examination results, I made a basic frame in teaching learners how to write a narrative effectively. Also analyzing the structures of empirical narratives some students wrote down, I tried to find out the way narratives are written. As a result, I made a conclusion that I can make five different steps for writing narratives, abstract - context - incident - evaluation - moral. And finally I made my classes perform the better skills to write narratives effectively.
This study has a meaning in that I have tried to apply my researches to the students' narrative writing activities in classrooms and give more appropriate structural frames to students. But I'd like to say that my researches are too insufficient to meet a goal for teaching students narrative writing activities effectively because my research stated from verifying fitness of established writing frames. In addition, to teach students how to write narrative systematically, it seems that not only the teaching method for macro structure theory but also the one for micro structure theory should be investigated more closely.
