With the development of higher education in China, the rapid growth of the number and scale of universities, and the increase of the number of college students and the number of graduates have virtually increased the competition for employment. At present, the number of college students to participate in social part-time is on the rise, off-campus part-time for college students’ future development is a certain positive effect, but college students in the process of part-time its labor rights and interests are often difficult to guarantee, often meet several rights and interests of damage are: “part-time work environment, serious overtime employment, withhold wages, after inductrial injury is difficult to get effective relief, and so on”. Therefore, in this paper, examined whether people have a way to protect their rights and interests when their rights are damaged.
This study selected cognitive path (home, school, media), recognition of labor rights and interests (compensation, time off, safety, respect for personality), willingness to protect rights and interests, and evaluation of current rights and interests protection as variables. As a result of analysis based on this, it was found that among the recognition paths, home, school, and media had a significant positive (+) influence on the will to protect rights and interests and the evaluation of rights and interests protection. Among labor rights and interests awareness, compensation, safety, and respect for personality were found to have a mediating effect in the relationship between rights and interests awareness channels (home, school, media) and the will to protect rights and interests. Meanwhile, among the awareness of labor rights and interests, only compensation was found to have a mediating effect in the relationship between the cognitive path (home, school, media) and the evaluation of current rights protection.
