In the post-COVID-19 era, university practicum must be designed for compatibility with online classes. Since the conversion to “untact” classes from face-to-face ones is a complex and difficult process, redesigning the practicum for performance production, which has only been conducted offline, for online classes may involve significant effort and considerations. This study aimed to design and operate a blended learning-based practicum adequate for a post-COVID 19 period. Applying the methodology of the rapid prototype, the research intended to design instructions that reflect the actual constraints faced by universities as well as the opinions of learners. As for the instructional design, lessons based on blended learning and project work were designed along with lessons customized to roles. Additionally, a questionnaire, interview, and midterm course evaluation were included, to analyze learners needs from multiple perspectives. In addition to the blended learning and project-based classes, role-customized classes were designed to incorporate customized learning objectives set according to the actor and actress/ staff roles and evaluate indicators established according to the customized learning objectives. In general, the classes designed and operated in this study received positive reviews from students in terms of increased interactions with the instructor and enhanced learning competency through a project. However, there was also an opinion that the connection between online and offline classes should be increased. Hence, when designing a blended learning-based class for the practicum, it is necessary to identify a strategy to connect offline.
