This paper explores the profound influence of Neoplatonism on the literary works of the Irish poet, W. B. Yeats. While existing scholarship has explored Yeats"s engagement with mysticism and spiritualism, this study specifically examines the manner in which Neoplatonic philosophy permeates his poetry, shedding light on its impact on his artistic and metaphysical perspectives. Yeats"s exploration of Neoplatonism and esoteric traditions was influenced by the intellectual and spiritual atmosphere of his time, and his readings, spanning various philosophical sources, prominently featured the works of Plato and Plotinus. Yeats"s Neoplatonism undergoes a noteworthy evolution, progressing from its nascent beginnings in his early poetry to its mature and intricate expression in his later works. This transformation highlights the enduring impact of Neoplatonic ideas on his literary journey, thus illustrating the profound influence of spiritual exploration on his artistic development.
