This study analyzed preferred hybrid learning environments of college students and suggested the improvements. Hybrid classes are getting attentions because they can fill out the gap from the less interactions from online courses but provide time-space autonomy. Hybrid classes require the interaction of face-to-face and non-face-to-face learners and the learning environment is expanded out of the classroom. In order to create an efficient hybrid learning environment, this study analyzed the preferred learning environment and user needs for hybrid learning. This study surveyed the preferred learning environment according to How to participate in classes, and conducted the IPA about the spatial characteristics and planning elements of each learning environment. The result shows that learners preferred non-face-to-face classes only for lecture classes. Learners preferred libraries and lounges on campus and home outside the campus as learning environments for the online class portion. As a result of the IPA, it was found that in the case of the non-face-to-face class learning environment, it was necessary to improve the "noise problem’ for lecture classes, and the face-to-face class learning environment was required to improve the elements that support interaction. The results of this study are expected to provide information on the required functions and characteristics of each learning environment, suggesting an efficient hybrid learning environment design direction.
