This study examines 'Gwichae', 'Japchae', 'Nonada', ‘Dokthda', 'Dokpak', and 'Pak which are gambling words related to Jeopo. It also observes how those words are used in some documents and the relations of the games between jeopo and yut. It examines not only the words, 'jeopo' and 'yut' but also terms related to both games. Three words are used together for Chinese names of jeopo, which are 樗蒲(a tree of heaven jeo, a cattail po), 摴蒲(gambling jeo, a cattail po), and 樗蒱(a tree of heaven jeo, gambling po). 樗蒲(a tree of heaven jeo, a cattail po) are most generally used. The words used together with 'jeopo' are Pak(博), Pakhee(博戱), Dopakhee(賭博戱), Yukpak(六博), Omok(五木). Those words used together with 'Yut' are Sahee사희(柶戲), Cheoksa(擲柶), Cheoksahee(擲柶戱), Tanhee(攤戱), Nyu(扭), Nyu(忸), Yuchi(遊齒). The terms of gGichae(貴采) and Japchae (雜綵) are used in playing the game of jeopo. Meanwhile the kinds of gwichae consist of No(盧), Chi(雉), Dok(犢), Bak(白), those of japchae consist of Kae(開), Sae(塞), Top(塔), Dok(禿), Hyo(梟), Kwueol(獗). 'Nonada' and 'Nonadda' are derived from the 'No'(盧) of 'gwichae'. ‘Dokthda' is derived from Dok(禿) of that . It was recorded that people of the Baekje period enjoyed the game of jeopo. Though people are familiar with the words related to the game thanks to Kim Siseup's《Manboksajeopogi》, they have no document which showed how to play the game specifically. They can but figure out outlines of the method of playing the game of jeopo from ≪Dangguksabo≫, the Chinese book in which the method is roughly recorded. However, they have a certain amount of limit in identifying its exact method. Some olio shows the terms, No(노), Chi(치), and Hyo(효), but it was not recorded that they actually played jeopo in the Chosun period. We need more study in that the terms related jeopo were used until the Chosun period, even though they had not played the game any more.
