Early childhood is more affected by the educational environment than any other period, and early childhood teachers are the most important human resource based on their professional competence. Therefore, this study proposes emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and teacher efficacy as determinants of role performance of early childhood teachers in the early childhood education environment, and examines the relationship between these variables and role performance. As a result of the study, as emotional intelligence, Self-Emotion Appraisal, Use of Emotion, and Regulation of Emotion were found to have a positive effect on self-esteem and teacher efficacy. In addition, it was found that self-esteem has a positive effect on teacher efficacy and role performance, and teacher efficacy has a positive effect on role performance. And it was found that self-esteem and self-efficacy had a partially mediating effect on the relationship between emotional intelligence and role performance. Through this study, we provide basic information that can inspire the role performance of early childhood teachers and further improve job performance by identifying that emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and teacher efficacy are prerequisites for role performance.
