The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation and progressive direction of the foreign language education center at the national university of education. This study was conducted through a questionnaire-based survey and in-depth interview focusing on students. The subjects of survey were 98 students and the subjects of in-depth interview were 7 students. The analyses of questionnaire-based survey were conducted by means of frequency analysis. The in-depth interview was performed in terms of semi-structured interview. The results of this study show that students are satisfied to some extent with programs of the foreign language education center. They think that the foreign language education center play a crucial role in enhancing students' English language proficiency at the national university of education. Furthermore, they think that a lot of programs should be developed and opened at the foreign language education center based on elementary English teaching and learning activities. They also think that programs should be advertised in advance for freshmen. It is recommended that attractive English programs be given to the students according to the level and interest. It is also suggested that exchange students and training programs abroad be opened at the foreign language education center.
