This article is to analyse the development of children’s Perspective Taking. In Weekend with Wendell, Wendell and Sophie are about 7-8 years old. However, Wendell is an egocentric boy, if compared to Sophie, a mature and empathetic girl. Meanwhile Wendell keeps harassing Sophie; he does not know how to make a friendship with her. However, in the end, Wendell develops his Interactive Perspective Taking ability based on self-reflection by solving their conflicts with Sophie’s help. In A Letter to Amy, Peter and Amy are about 9-10 years old. These children already know how to make friends, knowing well how to make their social relationship. However, an embarrassing event has happened, and being alarmed and confused, the situation gets out of their controls. By the result, they become misunderstood each other’s good intention. However, they recover fully their friendship after spending days of sadness and remorse. Their regretting and torturing minds make them cognitively and emotionally grow and mature, helping them to develop their Interrelating (Mutual) Perspective Taking ability.
