Kim jong-sam was born in Eunyul, Hwanghae-do in 1921 and began his literary career in 1953. He has trained his mind and constructed the purity poetic world through long matured time. In the 1950s, he established his own unique world amid the trickle of modernism, and unlike realism, which actively embraces the problems of reality, he wanted to reinvestigate cultural and capitalist reflection on modernity. He pursued imaginary beauty through concentrated poetic expression and margins, which can be called the aesthetics of empathy, and achieved aesthetic pre-emption in a short poem than long one. Namely, Kim Jong-sam’s unique expression, which dispense words and convey meanings by compressing forms, contributes to the shared reading of interpretations. Kim Jong-sam’s perception of the space is revealed through a space that moves inside rather than through a variety of aspects in a continuous and changing life. in other words, He try to approach to the poetic inside which summed up in the whole life by the various physical factors of society, rather than guarantee truth by specifing specific events or facts for social or historical understanding. The ritual of Kim Jong-sam’s space can be summarized into four categories: First, a poetic space about fear of division and death. Second, as opposed to real space, a poem which realize an ideal space by drawing sacred space like a monastery and chapel. Third, a poem that depicts the absence of an inherent sense of identity in a deficiency combined with a ‘frontier consciousness’ or ‘marginal consciousness’ such as poverty and isolation. Fourth, a poem which transmute a space of peace into a space of possibility at the subject’s inside considering with blocking space that excluded in space of others. Kim jong-sam recognized the space where he live as ‘a space of misery’ and hoped that real space would be a ‘good space’. The space that he constructed is a space which fulfilled with human love, feeling and spirit. and also he expected to spreading a origin of human nature in the space which is making a social origin, with honest poetic achievement. Kim jong-sam made the world worth living in through the rebuilt human living space. This space was the sacred space which from Kim jong-sam’s own nature.
