The College of Industrial Education has started technical teacher training programs since last March 1977. The college made its policy to intake freshmen students half from the technical high school graduates and the other half from the academic high school graduates. In Feb.1981, the students who are successfully achieved their four years academic programs in the college are awarded the Bachelor of Engineering degree and technical teacher certificate grade II. The study has analyzed the academic achievements of four years college programs to find out any significant differences are shown between two preconditioned student groups. The analysis was done by using HP 3000 series II type computer in the college. Findings are as the follows: 1) As a whole, there were no significant differences in academic achievement between two groups. 2) In the mechanical department there were significant differences between two groups. The students from technical high school graduates showed better academic achievement. 3) In the Electronic Department, there were some significant differences between two groups. The students from academic high school showed better academic achievements. It was also true in the Chemical Department. It is recommendable to intake more students from technical high school graduates according to the characteristics of each discipline instead of taking half and half from two groups in every department. It is not wise decision that the MOE made its policy to intake freshmen students in every department only 10% from technical high school graduates from 1982. Technical teacher must be well trainned in practical aspect as well as theoretical aspect. Training manuscriptive skills to elder students in the college level is not effective and cost much.
