The purpose of this research is to analyze the creative aging process experienced by the elderly in participating in cultural and arts education programs. Participants in this study were 11 people aged 65 years or older who had experience in the culture and arts education program and who were willing to participate. The data collection were conducted 1-2 times in depth interviews in January and February 2020. Collected data were analyzed through grounded theory proposed approach of Strauss and Corbin (1998). The result of this study was that 108 concepts, 39 sub-categories, and 17 categories were showed by open coding process. ‘Social participation through creativity activities’ was emerged as a core category. Based on this, it was found that there are four stages of ‘recognition stage’, ‘navigation stage’, ‘reflection stage’, and ‘growth stage.’ The types of creative aging experience were divided in to ‘satisfaction type’, ‘challenge type’ and ‘social type.’ Therefore, as a result of this study, the purpose of this study is to provide an empirical data for the development of an intervention program and the preparation of indicators of the creative aging experience process of the elderly who have experienced cultural and arts education.
