Although it has passed 10 years since multicultural policy was implemented, the issues related with ‘multiculture’ have been still fluctuating in our society. While the discourse on immigrants was centered around charity in the beginning, issues of reverse discrimination and anti multiculture have emerged these days. The purpose of this study is to examine how the issues of multi-cultual support and reverse discrimination have been experienced by service experts in the local setting and seek more improved ways of multicultural family support. For this, I conducted interviews with 9 participants who have been in charge of service for native disadvantaged people in the local areas. First of all, in terms of experienced reverse discrimination issue, they pointed out the gap between real perception and internet discourse, risk and disadvantages of multicultural families, difficulties not covered by the support law, increasing diversity within the multicultural family category, and non-confrontational relation between multicultural families and native disadvantaged groups. Next, while delivering services for disadvantaged people, in order to improve multicultural policy, they suggest differentiated support depending on multicultural families’ settlement stage, enhanced support for at-risk and disadvantaged multicultural families at blind spot, inclusive support with native disadvantaged group, reduction of short-term event style supports, and increasing multicultural families’ sense of community. Based on such results, I provided some discussion and suggestion for multicultural policy improvement inducing mature multicultural society.
