Research on literary education and thinking skills so far has remained introductory or theoretical. Therefore, it is the purpose of this paper to discuss the time when there should be a specific discussion about what kind of text will develop what kind of thinking power.
Therefore, this article focused on literature for thinking education, ‘defamiliarization’ and ‘observation’ which is the basis of it. I looked into the possibility of thinking education to get away from ideas and conventions by allowing some objects to be seen by themselves. By analyzing the ‘dinggedicht’ of Francis Ponju and O Gyuwon, which are well expressed as ‘defamiliarization’, we discussed that ‘observation’ can directly meet the object and the subject and make it possible to speak and write ‘truth’. A reader who has been trained in the ability to see “the stranger side” of things through the appreciation of literary works will accumulate the ability to truly see what the reader is seeing.
