Curriculum selection is one of the most important tasks in education, requiring a large portion of a budget(Cully, 1983, p. 11). In reality, curriculum selection is sometimes made based on a single standard without considering comprehensive criteria (Plueddemann, 1989, p. 270).
This paper, is written to help the church or other institutions to choose in reasonable ways the right curriculum, by introducing theories and evaluation criteria for curricula. The curriculum evaluation criteria by the writer are provided under the categories of four components: objective, content, learner, and method. Different evaluation examples for curricula from well known American Christian education publishers like LifeWay, David C. Cook, Group, and Korean non-denominational Christian publishers like Paidion, Duranno and Child Evangelism Institution are introduced, to allow a better understanding of these theories.
