The purpose of this study was to compare improvement of muscle strength and power on training methods(weight training, plyometric training and weight plus plyometric training). Subjects of this study were 18 male basketball players who were engaged in S university team. Over all, 18 players were selected ; 6 players who were involved in weight training, 6 players who were involved in plyometric training and 6 players who were involved in combined weight training and plyometric training. Each training group was performed 120 minutes/day for four times a week during 8 weeks period. Each group of subjects was tested as measured in same manner before and after the 8 weeks of research.
The variables of measurements were sargent jump, squat 1RM, 25m dash and wingate test. The statistical techniques which applied for data analysis were analysis of covariance. The statistical significance level was set at 0.05. According to the pre and post measurements that were tested for three groups, the conclusion were drawn as follow :
1. In sargent jump, there were significant differences between the pre and post measurement.
2. In squat 1RM, there were significant differences between the pre and post measurement.
3. In 25m dash, there were significant differences between the pre and post measurement.
4. In anaerobic power, there were significant differences between the pre and post measurement.
