This research is to dig into characteristics of women's writings, focusing on the differences between a variety of subjects, motives and characteristics of literary styles of modern women's literature and those of men's literature.
This research analyzes phonetic characteristics in terms of intonation, the usage of spoken and written languages and expressions of women's writings. In addition, it analyzes the usage of emphasis through adverbs and characteristics of utterances.
When considering literary styles frequently used by modern female writers, we cannot help mentioning literary styles of post-modernism. In this regard, this research tries to analyze pun, which attracts readers' attentions, indirectly explains writer's intentions and effects of sarcasm and humor, in all aspects such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.
In addition, with regard to paradox centering on antithesis of inter texts and oxymoron, this research deals with "re-writing processes," in which women writers not only quote a text from a work and absorb it but also conceive and reproduce other texts, and deal with its ripple effects on their writings.
Female writers give a distinctive name to a hero, showing differences between the hero and other characters. And the hero's name becomes a very important clue in describing and explaining characteristics of texts.
Other characteristics of women's writings include the fact that they use non-person in their writings to neutralize distinctions of sex, divide grammatical sex and natural sex, use dialogues and destroy orthography.
Female writers use inflection causing confusion to readers on the characters' sex, and use non-person or replace it with a universal 1st or 2nd person in an attempt to blur sex distinction when using past form of male and female verbs. This shows that women writers try to bring new lights to differences in characters based on sex by shunning the established distinction of roles between men and women.
In keeping with studies on women and women's languages that are actively studied in all over world, this research discusses women's writings in Russian literature. And by comparing women's languages in North America and Western Europe with those in Russia, this research tries to show their similarities and differences.
