Through literary works written by Russian women writers who are in full activity in the literary world, this paper analyzes a deviation phenomenon of the writers from a modern normative Russian language and considers the development process and tendency of the language.
Contemporary Russian language is undergoing changes in its usage due to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the introduction of capitalism and market liberalization. This change is related to the liberalizing process of social life concerning the mass media. And arbitrary and improvised utterance has adverse effects on Russian language and it leads to many problems regarding language user's utterance.
It is regarded that the language of women writers is affected by their efforts and attempts to break and overthrow vocabularies & grammar that men have established. This is the main factor that naturally differentiates the existence of women writers.
In the main discourse, post normalization phenomenon-which can be found in the meaning of words, grammar, coined words, and omissions-is examined.
Firstly, as for the meaning of words, women writers transform existing words, connotation & spelling, and change words into the form of ancient language, and make changes in idioms & phrases with an intention to deviate from the order that men writers established and the existing prescriptive language.
Secondly, as for grammar, the writers present new forms of grammar to their readers and throw them into confusion by overthrowing the existing grammar and using it arbitrarily and independently. The deviation from grammar produces satisfactory results of the multiplication of expressions by breaking the fixed tendency of combining words in noun or adjective phrases. attempting to make errors in using prepositions, and changing parts of speech. This does not mean that the phenomenon represents their lack of grammatical knowledge but illustrates women writers' attempts to deviate from the existing grammar & dominant ideology.
Thirdly, as for coined words, the writers create derivative words as a means of their writing style. They prefer to use irregularity rather than regularity in coining words and this enables them to create more coined words in arbitrary & irregular fashion which may face a certain limitation in regular manner.
Fourthly, as for omission, they exclude some words that are not omissible. And based on economic efficiency in linguistic sense, the writers leave out a word between a personal pronoun and a verb that are critical factors and not allowed to omit in Russian language.
As a conclusion, calling post-normalization as a general tendency of the writers has a possibility to make a generalization error, but the language use of women writers of all social strata promotes the tendency of post-centralization. And this illustrates that they enjoy complete freedom in using Russian language.
