The aim of this thesis is to look at the overall trends of women's history. Therefore, this thesis focuses on historiograhpical survey of medieval women's history, We attempt to classify works of women's history into two subjects: women's experience and status.
In earlier period research on experiences of women was focused on prominent women. Afterwards, however, feminine figures who had experiences in ways distinct from men of their field became important themes of research. In addition, this type of research, accepting all process of life including the conquest of crises and experience of frustrations as women's experiences, resulted in throwing a light upon women who previously were not generally known.
In works on women's status, historians at first focused on women in group and examined women's status together with changes of social structures and institutions. Afterwards, however, individual women within the same age or social status groups were treated more as differentiated beings with individual surroundings and circumstances.
