The reason employees' uniform should be considered important in the service industry is because customers perceive the appearance of employees, including the uniform, to be a part of service. The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of employees' uniform perception on their occupational attitude. Career commitment and job esteem were used as variables for occupational attitude. In order to verify the research question, the survey conducted by 348 employees - 113 department store workers, 128 hoteliers and 107 flight attendants.
It was analyzed that employees' uniform perception affected their career commitment and job esteem. The result of this analysis meant that the more the employees were satisfied with their uniform, the better their occupational attitude. In addition, it has been verified that there were differences in the employees' uniform perception according to type of business in the service industry. In other words, department store workers group perceived their uniform in the most negative way, where as flight attendants, employees of airline company invest the most in developing uniform, perceived their uniform in the most positive way. The result of this study - positive perception towards uniform influence occupational attitude positively - should be noted in the service company for managing employees' occupational attitude.
